My name is Sergiy Shatenko. I am a 19 year old full time student and an amateur athlete affiliated with the RA Badminton Club. I strive to be the very best I can be, both as an athlete and a student, and I invest all my time and energy to that end.
I am enrolled in the Ophthalmic Medical Technology program at the University of Ottawa while maintaining an 8.75 GPA
Some of my biggest achievements include winning both the Senior and Junior Provincial Championships, representing Canada at the Pan-American Junior and World Junior Championships in 2010, and making it to the semi-finals in my very first Senior National Championships in 2011. In 2010 I won both the provincial and national badminton championships and represented Canada at the Pan American and Junior World Championships but some of my career goals include winning the senior Canadian singles Championship, the Commonwealth Championship, and qualifying for the Olympics in 2016. However, my biggest dream is to win the All England Badminton Championships.
In order to reach the next level of competition I will need to travel to Europe and Asia for short periods of time and have access to world class players and coaches.
This will be an expensive undertaking and no doubt the biggest challenge of my life, but if I have the resources I know I will succeed.
Any amount of donation or any form of sponsorship would be greatly appreciated and extremely helpful.
I urge you to contact me to discuss any aspect of my training or just to say hello!
With gratitude,
Sergiy Shatenko

Looking good.
It would be good to discuss in some detail what elements of traing you hope to take advantage of.
Don.t enter long passages, just short comments and keep it up-dated on a weekly basis so it reads like a story , ( if you know what I mean )
Mention your association with Dabeka at some point.
A few lines about the costs you will incurr to do this
Eventually, ( like in a month or so ) also include upcoming tournaments or matches that are noteworthy.
Discuss briefly your feelings about winning a certain event and yes even the losses will keep people interested in what a difficult process you are undertaking.
etc.
Much more later…
I admire your character, determination and willingness to trust someone like me who was never an elite athlete but trained like one for many years. I am fascinated by your families journey as much as your own. They are corageous people no doubt.
I admire your families journey and relate to it in a weird kind of way. My Mothers ancestors originate in the Ukraine.
I think that is why we get along and why I was drawn to Andrew and Steph as well.
Stay Good
Michael
